Innovative Technology for More Precise Care

You might not give a spare thought to the instruments that dental professionals use, but the truth is, the right technology can make all the difference in the world when it comes to providing excellent care. That’s why Dr. Patel has made sure to outfit our Katy dental office with a wide variety of equipment, ranging from our cone beam CT scanner to our dental laser, that makes periodontal treatment a breeze. To learn more about how we’re providing top-of-the-line care with some of the best tech around, keep reading!

Periodontal & Soft Tissue Laser

Dr. Patel also uses a dental laser to assist with a variety of periodontal procedures, including gingivectomies, frenectomies, and many more. The best part about this unique instrument is how gentle it is; unlike scalpels, it instead uses a concentrated beam of focused light to treat infected tissue while preserving healthy tissue. This means faster procedures, much less bleeding, and smoother recovery periods!

Cone Beam CT Scanner

Our cone beam CT scanner sees quite a lot of use here in our office. This special instrument lets us take highly detailed 3D images of your mouth’s internal structures that the naked eye cannot see, such as your jawbone. Today, digital X-rays allow our team to bring up an immediately viewable diagnostic image of your mouth for Dr. Patel to examine, all while exposing you to significantly less radiation for a safer, more streamlined visit.

Guided Implant Surgery

We place our dental implants using customized surgical guides. These are a physical map of your mouth that guide Dr. Patel’s hands to place the implant posts at the ideal positions and depths within the jawbone for more precise, successful results. This method of surgical placement is also known to be less invasive than free-hand placement, as it’s planned out and practiced beforehand.

Digital Smile Design

Much of the anxiety that our patients feel comes from not being able to see the results before undergoing treatment. It’s now possible to visualize your smile and provide more input in your treatment decisions using our digital smile design software. First, our team will scan your mouth using our IO Scanner. We’ll then be able to show you a digital model of your smile on a chairside monitor and get your feedback, helping you feel confident moving forward!
